During the dry season in Cantão, from 16 August to 14 September 2014, a team of cinematographers from BBC stayed in Instituto Araguaia´s Research Base in order to obtain 4K Ultra High Definition footage of the Pink Dolphin Inia araguaiensis.  The footage is to be included in the new BBC documentary ONE PLANET, to be released sometime in 2016.   Emma Napper, film director and producer for BBC, and camera operator Tom Crowley spent endless hours per day filming with a variety of high tech equipment, including a custom-made octocopter drone which was operated by drone expert Michael Sanderson. Our staff assisted the crew.

Hi George and Silvana

I hope you are well. I wanted to say thank you very much for all your help in Cantao. It was great to meet you and work with you. We just got back and will hopefully start looking at the footage over the next month (it needs to be processed now!)

Best wishes and thanks again

From Emma
